i purchased e-code lamps from them for my 95 9000cs last year. they are the Hella units that saab uses in europe (for right hand traffic). to say they are wonderful would be an understatement. they provide substantially greater light output and a much more useable light pattern. i do a considerable amount of night driving and i really needed the improvement.
if you intended to replace your old DOT lamps with new ones, then, the e-code units make sense. however, several caveats may apply:
first, even though they are superior to the DOT headlamps, these units are not approved for use in the usa. if the garage or state agency that inspects your car is a stickler for the rules, they may not allow your car to pass state inspection. so i would recommend you keep your old lamps just in case you need to swap them out for inspection(the garage that inspects my car doesn't care as long as they work). second, these lamps, from this source, do not include leveling motors. in europe these motors allows you to adjust beam height from a switch inside the car. they are useful for lowering the beam level if, because of load factors, your rear end sags lower. usa spec cars are not pre wired for these motors anyway so, unless your anal like me, (i'm installing the wiring and i bought the motors used from england) then this is probably a non issue.
other than that, go for it. these units are plug and play, they require absolutely not modification to your car. the wiring and connectors are exactly the same as are the mounting tabs. carefull aiming is required (see the daniel stern lighting website) and they provide a wonderful test bed for a HID conversion (which is unfortunately also not legal).
all things considered, i'm really happy with them.
