Sure - my gauge does everything I would expect (I have a 200 bhp automatic) and the only query I had regarded boost with cruise engaged. It looks as thought the vacuum and electronic types behave differently, that's all. But it becomes of interest when people report base boost condition - the cruise is sometimes suggested as a possible cause. Also, on the older cars you can use the cruise as a handy way to remind yourself where on your gauge base boost is indicated.
By the way, I don't regard the boost gauges as accurate. For one thing, my "new" car gets to the start of the red at a lower boost level than did the old one, according to a separate calibrated gauge I hooked up on both cars at various times. Also, the dash gauge isn't calibrated by Saab - they don't tell us the boost at different points on the gauge - so it must be inaccurate by definition.
I read your earlier posts with great interest. I spent some time playing with the BPC valve on my previous car and ended up changing it because the resistance was a little off. It's really annoying when parts are made to poor specifications but in real life I'm prepared to buy a new part occasionally! In the end my problem with the '93 was a DI in early stages of failure. So I have a spare BPC - maybe I'll strip it down and learn something.
