I bought a 93 aero with 75k miles, all stock, a few months ago and there is a persistant noise that is coming from the left side of the head. It is definitly a chain of some sort. From other posts I believed it to be the balance shaft chain. But the balance shaft chain does not go nearly as high up as where the noise is coming from, so then i thought timing chain. I took the cam cover off and the timing chain is not loose and the guides that I could see seemed to be fine. what else is in that area that could make a clacking/rubbing noise like what I am hearing?
