I had the same problem. There is a plastic housing (tube) and a "nipple" that slips over the flexible control arm going into the motor. The plastic housing gets brittle and cracks, allowing the flexible control arm too much room to move and it eventually pops out of the socket in the motor or the seat back joint.

Saab sells this .05 cent thing for $50. Don't buy it. Use the nipple on the broken one and go to a hardware store, find some polyethylene tubing that will be large enough diameter to fit the control arm. Leave a bit of the original tubing on there near the nipple so you can slide the new tubing over it and glue it there. Use the good one on the other side to pattern the length of the new tubing. It is a bit of a pain to pull the seat and pull back some of the leather, but it is worth it considering the mental anguish of having to pay $50 for a five cent piece of plastic. I replaced mine half a year ago and it works beautifully. I should have made more and then sold them for $45 ; ) If you need help, just email me.
