I had a discussion with some guys that pretty much said that there was no
I could have done an auto to 5 spd conversion in a day. I know I did it with surprising ease. Anybody else out there that has swapped? I found everything to be the "euro standardize" easily assembled/disassembled stuff. The fold down frame made it very nice.

One person said that I must have cut corner, but how do you cut corners. I just took parts out and put new parts in. True I did not use a torque wrench on everything, but i put 100k on the car without anything falling off. Honestly, who out there uses a torque wrench on tranny bolts? Another person said that the shifter linkage took a couple hours. What??? The shifter linkage slides right into place with a couple of bolts on either end.

I did have everything out of the doner car, because I purchased it all for $1000 with master cyl. already rebuilt as part of the deal. (Denise Sweeney Saab in Ligonier Pa. Good people.) I also had the new clutch kit purchased.

5. Remove antisway bar bolts and frame bolts to allow frame to swing down. 10 min.
6. Unbolt all linkage and such from tranny and remove tranny mount bolt. 5 min.
7. Remove 5-6 tranny to enging bolts. 5 min.
8 remove alxe bolts and pull out. 5 min.
9. Place 3 foot 12 inch wide board like a ramp from ground up to bottom of tranny and walk the tranny off and down out of the car. 10 min.
10. Pull out driver's seat. 5 min.
11. Remove center console 10 min.
12. Unbolt and remove automatic shifter linkage. 5 min.
13. ******Removing the auto brake peddle and installing the new clutch bracket and new brake/clutch peddles. I drilled and bolted opposed to welding. 1 hours.
^^^This is the only frustrating part.
14. Install new clutch master cyl. and run hose to brake fluid bottle. 15min.
15. Install shifter linkage 2 min.
16. Remove old flywheel and converter. 20 min.
17. Install new flywheel and clutch kit 20 min.
18 Walk new tranny up into place and bolt in 15 min.
19. Hook up shifter linkage block, install slave cyl. and plumb hydrolics. 20 min.
20. Blead clutch. **** This was a pain too. 1/2 hour
21. Bolt frame back up into place and reinstall suspension and wheel. 30 min.
22. Reistall battery and holder. 5 min.
23. Reinstall console and seat. 20 min.
