Dean
with Haynes I did a lot of works on my '95 (timing chain, sprockets, balance chain and sprockets, headgasket etc) but the best support I had was from this wonderful BB. Haynes is helpful but what You should experience at first attempt should be better warned by someone who, like You and me, already learned this at his first attempt...maybe I'm a little confused...
So, Haynes is good but guys in this BB are great!(do a search, You will find anything, maybe some treatment against anthrax too!!!)
My'95 is equipped with a B204L engine: no problems for timing the system: there are plenty of notches You could miss anyway(...but I did without destroying the engine). So no need for strobo lights.
Good luck
Tiziano
