I am also tracking down a clunk/creak from pass. side strut tower. The dash is acting like a boom box and making it much louder in the cabin than out.I too am trying to determine if it is the strut and/or strut bearing before diving in.Have already done the ball joints, bearings, control arm bushings, and calipers. The noise is most prevalent when loading the suspension(braking/acceleration) and turning right at the same time.Bounce test seems ok but the struts are original in a '90 turbo AT with 120k.Also have tightened all sub-frame bolts I can find. Good luck and please post if you find the cause.
