Ari posted these values for the Coolant Temperature Sensor before:
0C - 32F - 5800 ohms +/-10%
20C - 68F - 2600 ohms +/- 7%
80C - 176F - 370 ohms +/- 5%
I will make the assumption (which may be incorrect) that the resistance to temp ratio is exponential and divides by two for every 20 degree C increase. Given this assumption, 1300 ohms would be OK for 40C (or 104F) but a bit low if the coolant was actually at 82 degrees F (28C) - but this would tell the ECU to provide less fuel, not more! Was the car really at ambient temp or was the coolant still somewhat warm from running this morning? Obviously, without the actual curve, I'm guessing. If you measure it again when the car is hot, that might give a better indication. Note that there is a certain amount of slop in the specs.
How much darker is the number three spark plug: black and sooty or just a bit darker?
