When I bought my car three years ago they replaced the fan speed controller and spliced in a new section of harness because one of the plugs had melted and then grounded to another wire or something like that (don't recall exactly what was said).
I kept the old fan speed controller and got a new resistor for it. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, fan stopped working. I pull the fan controller out and one of the pins has no plastic around it, it moves freely when I press on it. Obviously a heat issue in the connection. Lucky me I have another speed controller on hand, so I re-replace the end of the harness connection and get it working again. My intention is to get a whole new harness (as much as I can) from the junkyard and resplice it all.
I don't know what else I can do with it.
