Do you have the two-speed or one-speed fan?

The two-speed fan has a gold resistor riveted to the fan shroud.
If you have a one-speed fan, like I have on my '88 9kt, then I suspect a failing radiator fan motor. Unfortunately, these are not cheap items. As a fan fails, it draws more current. As an electrical motor starts up, it draws higher current, anyway.
If you have a two-speed fan, there are two relays, low and high speed. If both are working, the fan will already be on when the temp gets up so high to trigger the high-speed fan relay, so the current draw will not be so high as to burn out the fuse. If, however, the low speed operation of the fan is compromised, the fan will go from a dead stop to high-speed operation, and I understand that this is sufficient to blow the 30A fuse.
I just replaced my fan motor on my '91 9kt. It was blowing all fuses, the high-speed 30A fuse and even the 5A timer fuse for the low-speed fan. Hearing the fan come on is now music to my ears. Installation took about an hour.
A better electrician can tell you how to measure the current draw with your fan, if you have an ampmeter.
