I finally decided that the ride quality provided by my Bilstein HDs is just too rough for my tastes. I've decided to go back to the original Sachs/Boge units and have become a bit confused as to what was originally fitted to the car. I called Sachs/Boge and confirmed that they only have one part number for the shocks and struts for a 9000 w/ the 2.3 liter engine. According to Sachs, the same units should be used on the Aero, CS, CSE, etc... Here are the part numbers provided...
Front: 32-B53F
Rear: 36-187-0
I've read threads that the shock/struts were originally colorcoded with Brown, Orange, and other bands to indicated the stiffness. I would appreciate any insight anyone can provide as I looking to get back to the "original" ride quality...
Thanks,
Bernie
