Eric, I know and feel your pain. I have the same problem with my TB and LHM. Took the car to the shop and they said that it was the TB. The first suggestion from them was to change the contacts to gold. I thought it would be expensive but $1700 was beyond expensive for a 92 9k no way! So what they offered next was to clean the contacts which they did. It helped! However periodocily it still goes into LHM. Since you have had yours completely apart can you tell me if these contacts can be cleaned your self and if so where are they, what do they look like and how do you get at them? Thanks for the help! I plan to also try some of the other things you and others have mentioned.
