Richard: Yes, the compressor comes on.
Wingerr: I had my friend turn the controls from 'lo' to 'hi' and the arm moved... and at least before the motor/housing went in the flaps made a tight seal. because of the 1 or 2 degree differense of temperature between 'auto' and 'econ' I'd have to surmise that it is a mixture problem... I just don't know where to pinpoint it. I have two days off from work starting tomorrow, so I intend to rip it apart and re-seat the blower and A/C housings... Is there a trick to moving the AC housing (the one that actually mates with the fan housing) out of the way? I removed two hex screws and my instructions said there were three screws... never found the third one. the A/C housing would move about 6-8in up, and about 1-2 inches towards the passenger side (US- right of car while looking out the cabin). I'd like to be about to move the A/C housing more like 3-4 or even 6 inches to the right to get more room to re-seat the blower housing. any ideas? maybe finding that 3rd screw? I removed the screw neareast to the engine and the one nearest to the right fender... couldn't find a third.
I hope to have some ideas from you guys tomorrow for when I tear it apart again... thanks!
