Ok, so this is the first time a saab has ever left me stranded besides one time when a hose burst on my dad's 900. The alternator bearing froze or something along that lines, because the engine didnt turn and the alternator light came on right before it died. So I read up on removing it. I opened up the wheel well liner thing, got the belt off, unbolted the alternator, got it out of its bracket, but cant move it more than an inch or so. unbolted PS pump through pulley, it moves about 2 inches away, found 2 bolts underneath it, un did them, wouldn't budge, found 3 more bolts attached to block, got 2 loose and trying to get 3rd broken loose, then one bolt near the back of the alternator. Should this get it out.
-Are these the right bolts, are there others I'm missing?
-How do I get to the bolt at the back of the alternator(on the
bracket)?
-Will a alternator from a 900 work after the pully is changed over?
-The car is a '90 9k CD w/ the 2.3 non turbo, 133,000 miles
