Help me out a little....

Hello everyone--
I've been lurking, and I've found almost everything I need to know about the 1995 9000 Aero which I hope to own. I even found a great mechanic in my area . What an incredible site. But I digress.
I'm 16, and I've worked my butt off for the past couple years and now have about $5500 and will have ~$8000 around the new year. Now--the question is, if you were in my position, and were looking for a good solid mostly problem free 30k-35k miles before I sell the car and go off to college, would you get the 1995 Aero? I'm looking in the 120k mile range, and I've consulted http://www.quasimotors.com to help create the single most annoying e-mail regarding any given used car for sale, which basically covers everything he said that could go wrong with the car to see if it was replaced, maintained, etc. Now--I'm pretty sure that I can get my car for about 5k with the information that I've gathered, but tell me if I'm wrong.
So, I please ask that you empathize with my situation and tell me what you would do, since my income is rather sporadic, and keeping my GPA at its level will probably take 85% of my time, so no DIYing here.
Thank you very much.
