After a cycle of recharging dead batteries on my 93 Saab 9000, I replaced the battery. Now I'm looking for drains on the juice with a 12 volt/spark plug tester. I disconnect the positive battery cable, hook the tester's allegator clip to the cable and touch the probe to the positive battery post. I pulled every fuse in the glove box one at a time. The bulb in the tester burns brightly except when I pull fuse No. 16 marked "Central lighting, interior lighting, door lights, luggage compartment.'' Even with that fuse out, the bulb in the tester lights faintly for a while with each fuse, but I figure that's from the radio security device. When I pull fuse 19 for the radio, the bulb doesn't light at all.
The interior dome light hasn't worked for a while, and I haven't replaced the bulb. I pulled the light from the ceiling and disconnected the two wires, but when I re-inserted the fuse, the bulb on the tester still burned brightly. I read an earlier posting about bad relays for the dome light behind the glove box. To see the relays, do I have to unscrew the glove box, and how do I know which relay is which?
