If removing the brake didn't free the wheel, sounds likely that the bearing has seized in that wheel. Although it could be something related to the transmission, I can't think what would affect only one side of the car off hand.
While that's good news compared to the cost of a transmission replacement or rebuild, you need to address that bearing NOW. Meaning, do not drive the car until it's fixed. I'm further encouraged that it's the bearing because if the transmission were your problem you would hear the grinding noise in the transmission, not the wheel.
Usually when bearings go bad they develop excessive play, which you might be able to confirm by jacking up the offending wheel, grasping it a 12:00 and 6:00 and attempting to rock the tire. If you can feel any movement, that's a bad bearing. Usually this diagnostic applies to bearings that have not seized, and if yours has seized, I'm not sure it would still apply.
Bearing replacement entails replacing the entire (sealed) bearing unit. Not sure of the cost of the part these days but last I recall they were about $150 to $200 through site sponsors.
You will need to replace the axle nut along with the bearing as the nut is a single-use item.
Good luck, and definitely keep the car off the road, because the bearing can fall apart and cause loss of control at speed.
