Having done the 9005 bulb mod several years ago, I can tell you that you will not blind oncoming traffic compared to the high-output Xenon headlights now produced. The 9005 bulb will produce 70% more light (around 1700 lumens vs. 1000) than the 9006 but since the bulb is in the low headlight housing, you will see more light output without changing the angle of the light to oncoming traffic. Xenons put out 3200 lumens for comparison. No problems to the housing, lens, wiring, etc. so far with the 9005. Don't expect any since the 9005 bulb only draws an additional 5W over the 9006 bulb. Now when I experimented with the high wattage bulbs >80W, the fuses would blow after 30-60 seconds of use, and yes, those were blinding.
