This may sound completely stupid to some of you, but here is my question.
I live on top of a very steep hill in San Francisco. This hill is at least 55 degrees at the end, and I have to climb two of these to get to where I live. Very often I have to park on the street, which requires me to drive to the top of the hill, turn around, roll back down the hill and BACK UP into the parking spot.
The problem I have is the backing up, since i have a manual car, it's very difficult to back up from dead stop. 90% of the time i get that heavy vibration (like when you accidently try to move the car on 3rd gear from stop).
Anyone have any advice as to how to reverse up a huge hill? Or even advice on climbing some of these hills, my strategy right now is just to keep it on 1st gear because the hill is so steep also there are stop sign at the top of every 55-60 degree hill.
Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can offer!
matt
