I'm open to perspectives as I try to figure this out.

1990 9000S with 210,000 miles, clutch stuck engaged most likely needs slave cylinder.

I bought it nearly four years ago with 190,000 miles for $1050. After a year I replaced rear brakes completely. In second year I replaced exhaust and ball joint and finally front brakes completely. Approaching 4 years, I have less than $2000 into car, plus insurance and registration.

Car was very well-maintained with $1000s in repairs in the couple years prior to me getting it, alternator, engine mounts, various sensors, new DI, new compressor (though AC didn't work, it needed another part and the guy didn't want to spend more $).

I love the car, but I never drive it. It sits in Massachusetts and waits for me or my wife to come into town every two or three months...

Hence, my dilemna. My mech says $900 to replace most likely needed slave cylinder, along with clutch, and rear main seal (not including clutch hoses/lines).

Sounds like good price, and he's a Saab mech. I could fix now, but then car would continue to sit, unless I got family member to drive it, OR, I could let it sit until next spring and then try to fix it myself (i've done slave twice so far).

I may move back to Massachuetts next Spring, in which case I'll have four cars in Massachusetts, three of them Saab 9000's. One of them would likely have to go...

Other two are 93 9000CSE 157K, and 92 9000S with 173K. The 90 9000 has the most new parts, and always felt tightest, free of clunks and other noises, but engine is noisy when cold.

Any thoughts? Can I let it sit till Spring without doing it any harm? At 210K miles is it worth fixing for $900? Is it worth replacing rear main seal if it looks ok?
