Warning about being donor car during a jumpstart...

Just want to give a heads-up to everyone.
I needed to jumpstart my wife's Buick Rendezvous SUV the other night. I used my 9K as the donor. Cables were connected correctly, and everything went along accordingly. I then parked the car for the evening.
Upon initial start-up the next morning, the engine cranked and cranked and then finally started. I also noticed my CEL was extinguished which had been on due to a faulty O2 sensor. The CEL can only be turned off using a diagnostic tester in '96+ cars (OBD-II compliant).
It seems the jumpstarting affected the ECU somehow. The CEL not being on anymore meant the codes had been erased, and the long cranking to get the engine started meant the ECU had been reset (as if the battery had been disconnected). All other electrical items were fine. Thank goodness no other damage was noted since the car is driving normally. I just have to give it an adaptation run now.
I now know to use my '93 900TC for jumpstarting since the ECU in that car is easily/cheaply replaceable, and the 9K isn't (BSR re-mapped to Stage 3).
