In loudspeaker lingo, 'driver' refers to a woofer, midrange, or tweeter. In almost all automotive component crossovers I have seen, you don't have connectors at the crossover itself. Instead, you have a screw terminal. You loosen the screw, strip 1/4" (depending on design of the crossover) of insulation from the end of the wire, insert into the terminal on the crossover, and tighten the set screw. If you are never going to go back to the stock speakers (and I see no reason to), you can cut the stock speaker wires at the woofer. You will likely need to extend the wires to reach your crossover though, so use whichever method you like best to do that. I like fully insulated quick disconnect 0.250" spades, but you could use anything you fancy as long as it makes a secure connection. So connecting the woofers and tweeters to the crossover is the same. The tweeters will almost certainly have two 0.125" terminals, so get those size of crimp on female connectors. The woofers usually have two 0.250" terminals, but sometimes I have seen one 0.125" and one 0.250", or sometimes even 0.187". Of course if you want to, you could even solder the wires to the woofer and tweeter terminals, but I don't recommend this as it's a pain if you ever want to change things around, and small tweeter terminals have a tendency to be mounted in plastic which usually melts easily when subjected to the heat of the terminal with a soldering iron on it.

Usually, if you bought the component set new and complete, it will come with all the connecters you need for the woofers and tweeters. I have never bought a complete component set though (prefer to match my own woofers, tweeters, and crossovers), so I have a stash of various size crimp on terminals on hand.

Damnit, now you have me thinking about putting new speakers in my new ride....
