Hi,

My '91 9000s has been manifesting a new deal lately.

I believe that this year/model cuts off the fuel during engine coast, I'm basing this on the restored performance after I got the speedometer working. Just a hypothesis. I don't know if it factors in.

Anyway, what's been happening is that, after say a 10 minute drive, during which I may or may not have hit full throttle, when I come to a stop, the engine idle drops to about 200, revs back up to 2000, drops again, rises again, etc. If I quickly switch the key to off and back on, it will idle just fine. If the car stalls due to low idle, I can immediately restart it with no problems. Today I unplugged and replugged the AMM when it was fluctuating with no result. I seem to recall on my '87 900 that unplugging and replugging the AMM had a pretty big result.

Maybe it's just a broken AMM... Maybe I need to open up the throttle bypass a little bit. Maybe the motor is breaking.

I don't really know, which is why I'm writing here. The car at least has new plugs and a new fuel filter and has full power (all 150 whopping hp) when I'm on the gas. It's just when I'm off the gas and stopped that I seem to get this weirdness.

Thanks for any advice, much appreciated. This just started within the past couple of days, I've had the car since mid-july, and I know it sat for a long time in the previous owner's driveway. I guess I'm just dealing with the aging pains as I've brought the car back online.

Thanks folks,

Rolf
