Wow Ari, sounds like a bit of an overkill. Saab originally did not have a recommended oil change interval and we all saw what happened. Later they listed 35K change interval, and added a filtered breather somewhere in the early 90's. Unless you are pulling a trailer or some such, changes more frequently than half the recommended interval may not be too helpfull. Tranny oil does degrade but is not exposed to combustion gases which add contaminants and water to the engine oil. Generally tranny oil does not rapidly fall apart until well above 250 degrees F. The main point in changing the oil, other than refreshing it, is to remove very fine wear particles. The magnet catches the iron based ones, the filter can only catch the other larger particles. Note, the magnet can retain only so much, after it is loaded up many of the particles are carried away by oil motion. Since dirt - debri are the enemy of the tranny, care should be taken to avoid introducing dirt when changing the oil.
