All of my friends and I got our first cars around the same time, about 4 years ago. We're all turning 20 and 21 this/next year. We all got cars around the same vintage ('95-'97 ish...my 9k is obviously the nicest of the group thank you very much).
It seems like after a couple years and few thousand more miles, all my friends' cars are turning to shit. My friend's Grand Cherokee is literally falling apart, rattling, and leaving a smoke screen. Another friend's Cherokee did in fact fall apart, and I think my friend's Exploder is going to drop the tranny any day now.
Needless to say, they're all starting to think about getting new cars.
Me? I'm planning my next upgrade!!! Will it be a tuned ECU or more suspension work? Perhaps brakes? It really is true when they say that when a Saab reaches 100k miles, its just getting broken in. There's no end in sight for this baby I'll tell ya!
