The Verdict Is In

Today, I took my 9k to a reputable local Saab repair shop for an estimate on work that needs to be done. I knew I had to replace the head gasket (it's weeping now, but could get worse), and also knew that was going to run me about $750 bucks with parts/labor/included valve adjustment. What I found out by going to him, however, is that my car needs a lot more. One major item he mentioned is a Full Service (think terminology from the owners manual). He mentioned replacing lots of parts such as vacuum lines, flushing the tranny, changing all the filters, the hoses, and belts. As far as belts, he mentioned the serpentine belt, pulley, and tensioner, as well as the timing chain. He also mentioned some subframe mounts that needed to be replaced, as well as CV joints in the front (not gone, but cracking). All total, the estimate was around $1850. That included everything I needed to have done to bring the car up to par. The car has 196k miles on it, it's a 96 9000 CS, and I only paid $1000 for it, so I don't feel that his estimate is that far off.
What I'm wondering is if he's on the money. Do you all know what "Full Service" means? Does Saab have any specifications for this work? What does it say in the manual about replacing stuff at 150/200k miles? I don't have all the paperwork that would normally come with a new purchase of a car (I have the owners manual, and one for the radio).
Thanks for any/all words of wisdom.
