'91 5 Door - Rear Passenger Doors inoperable

The rear passenger doors are inoperable from both the inside and the outside of the car. The power door locks seem to be working (they move up and down when I lock/unlock). Any ideas what's going on here?
I also have a weird automatic transmission behavior. When I'm on the accelarator the tranny has a tendancy to shift up way to early, especially from 2nd to 3rd. I'll be going up a hill and it'll shift up to 3rd and put me at 1k rpms. Is my transmission on it's last legs or is this an electronic/sensor problem?
Thanks for any help!
