I did the exact same front and rear bushing mods to both my 88 and 89 and agree that it's a nicely balanced, cost efficient setup.It's been about 40k since I did the 89 but I haven't noticed any problems yet with the end links. I did replace them with new ones, though, when I put on the poly.
You're probably right that the endlinks take more abuse, but even if they only last 30k, they're still not all that expensive. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if a rear swaybar end bushing wouldn't fit.
