and on balance you will probably be very happy. The trick with Saabs is to over-maintain them and if something breaks, fix it right away. The more you can do yourself the less expensive it will be, as most parts are fairly reasonably priced if you buy through site sponsors. What you really want to do is keep it away from a dealership. Find a good indy shop that specializes in Saabs, develop a relationship with them and you'll have the car a long time. A '96 with just 51K on it has a decade of life left.

Welcome to the BB. The 9K is a wonderful car, there's almost nothing like it made today. I think of them as the last of the real Saabs.
