of air tools, then you don't need the higher power compressors.
But if there's any chance you might get a hankerin' for other tools, you may as well spring for a decent sized compressor and just stash it away in the corner of the garage with a long hose and automatic drain. Then you can just leave it on all the time, and use it when you need it, using the quick disconnects to switch tools.
I would stay away from the direct drive compressors, even though they're cheaper, because they make a horrific sound when running; the belt drive type is just much more pleasant.
One of my favorite tools is my muffler cutter, which definitely needs a good volume of air, so you have to get sufficient CFMs to run it. Evercise in frustration otherwise.
Butterfly impact is another favorite of mine, because it's really speedy for loosening and small enough to manuver around easily.
I rarely use my air ratchet, because it's just too slow and the tradeoff with the noise and the hose makes me prefer the regular ratchet.
Air sander gobbles up huge air, but that could be partially due to the cheap HF one I have rather than a name brand one.
The more expensive air tools are more efficient in the use of air, and will work better- I had a Chicago Pneumatic, which I was always impressed with, unfortunately I gave it away when I got the Ingersoll Rand, which is supposedly more powerful and lightweight, but I haven't really found it to be the case. The Chicago Tools one from HF should handle the stuff you want to do easily, but if you can, you might consider springing for the better stuff. Take care of it with proper lubrication and it'll last you forever, so average out the cost through the years, and it's not all that much more-
