You didn't lose any screws -- that's the rarest of repair experiences.
To get the mixer flap cable free, you might try setting the temperature to a warmer or colder setting so as to have better access to the push nut you need to remove. Be firm but gentle (how confusing is that?) in removing the push nut, so as not to break the arm lever. If the lever breaks, Saab makes a repair kit so it's not the end of the world. Should you destroy or lose the nut, don't worry about it, you can get the cable back on there during reassembly and it isn't going anywhere.
I've always found at most two screws, sometimes just one. Presumably things may have changed over the years, or Saab thought they'd avoid backruptcy by eliminating an extra heater box screw.
