The spring from a ball point pen will probably be fine, but you'll have top experiment to determine the right length. You can also try a good hardware store and peruse their nuts and bolts drawers.
You may also be able to pick up an entire stalk assembly on eBay. I got one for about $25 a couple years ago. You can also try a junk yard that lets you pull your own parts.
On a '95 you should be able to R&R without removing the steering wheel or airbag. Just remove the top and bottom covers (they are held on with Torx head screws, accessible from underneath. Some wiggling and gentle pulling/prodding is usually necessary. The switch unit is attached with 1 or 2 screws (I forget). It's very obvious how it goes together when you are in there.
The only trick is accessing the screws holding the covers on. They are recessed so you need to get at them with a screwdriver rather than a wrench. I use one with interchangeable bits.
Good luck
