I'd keep the 9K. I found when I semi-retired my C900 it actually was driven very rarely (when the 9K was in the shop) and it actually began needing stuff at a faster rate than when driven daily. That can be a problem with older cars. I finally parked it for a year and finally donated it.
SO... you won't get more than a few hundred bucks for your '87 but put that toward the HG or other stuff on the 9K. The 9000 is newer, better as a back-up family car, and since you've done a lot on it already it should hold up well for some time. I have a '95 and '96 and both run great on routine maintenance except for occasional items like a radiator.
