I happen to like and use Bars Leaks, but in your case, if it ain't broke...
The signs of a leaky heater core are (1) - a strong coolant smell in the cabin with the heat on and the car warm (2) greasy fogging on the inside of the windshield , and (3) coolant in the carpet, assuming the leak is very bad. You'll always get heat.
You seem to not have two of the symptoms. The only sign is a blue liquid, that may or may not be coolant - perhaps a Big Gulp spilled.
I'd stick with the others - watch the coolant, and use your nose. Dry out the area as best as possible, and just keep watch. I'm a supporter of Bars Leaks, but it works on the microcracks that form on the heater core early in the failure progression. If the heater core is leaking badly enough to put coolant onto the carpet, it's too far gone for Bars Leaks. So I wouldn't bother with it at this time.
