Is the LED on the top of the dash flashing? Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: '93 9000CS won't turn over, MattB, Tue, 24 Jan 2006 09:38:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm wondering if the alarm system has been activated. Maybe someone disconnected the siren. If the red light on top of the dash, in the driver's side dashboard speaker is flashing, then the alarm has been triggered.
Normally, when you lock the car with the key, the light will flash showing the alarm has been set. It'll flash around 1/second. If the car is unlocked /doors open, and you still see a flashing (usually much faster), the alarm has been triggered.
Why is this important? The alarm system can disable the starter.
You should be able to disable the alarm by unlocking the driver's door with the key. You don't need a remote.
