I recently cleaned my injectors with brake clean then used compressed air to dry them. Did I break them?
See I did this a month or so ago as I replaced my head gasket - was plum worn thru between the water jackets... had coolant water leaking into the oil return portion.
Anyway - I cleaned the intake with mag wheel cleaner and the injectors with brake cleaner. I blew air all around the injector in an effort to get the brake cleaner off the end and make sure nothing went in the opening.
I replaced the O-rings.
Now as I try to start the 93 9000 - it will not start.
It will 'run' on staring spray but it sure make a racket. So I know I have spark.
The O-rinsg at the injectors were I guess not tight and fuel was spraying all over the place. So I know I have fuel at the injectors under pressure.
I disconnected the fuel return from the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) and it flows slowly.
I disconnected the FPR vaccuum line and no fuel sprays out.
So I believe the FPR is OK.
I have 12 VDC at the injectors and the grounds are connected to the intake. The intake ground wire by the dog bone motor mount is attached both ends.
I don't hear the injectors clicking but I used a TLL (TTL) electonics test light and it appears the injectors are pulsing (not 100% sure though).
So I have two (2) concerns:
1) Did I ruin all 4 injectors by cleaning them. I doubt it but..???
2) Is there a hidden fuse or relay I am missing for the injector side of the computer? All the fuses under the hood and in the glove box look good. I even swapped them around in case there was a fault other then the easy to view blown portion.
I am out of ideas. The manual offers no help.
Your ideas most welcome!
Thanks,
Erik
