ACC cabin temp sensor fan runs all the time - HELP ME

Hi. 1991 turbo. This is my second attempt to get a reply to my car's problem: the ACC temp sensor fan runs all the time and I don't know what to do or how to diagnose.
I've replaced the ACC control unit with a used one that worked fine in the previous owner's car (a Saab 9000 diy nut), but it did not fix my problem. I still have to pull the ACC control unit fuse when parked overnight, otherwise it can drain my battery enough to prevent starting the next morning.
I've fallen into the habit of hitting the OFF button on the ACC before turning off the car, because about 50% of the time, the whole ACC panel will stay lit (with the temperature display still on) even after shutting the car off.
If I DO turn off the ACC before shutting the car off, the green LCD to the left of the OFF button will remain lit when the car is shut off, and the cabin temp sensor will still all night long.
Can anyone please give me any suggestions? Has anyone ever experienced the same behavior? I've re-programmed countless times, and I've searched the archives, both to no avail.
Thanks!!
Karl
