Radio code not going in, how to take out?

I own a 9000 CSE w/ turbo, has a nice stereo (the one with the removable keypad for anti-theft). Battery lost power about a month ago. Thinking I could just figure out the code for the radio since I couldn't find it, I started trying combos - for the entire 5 hr ride home from my parents to my new apt. Now the radio won't unlock, even with the code I got from the seller when I bought it, and I remember last time when this happened, using the code that he gave me and it worked. I tried disconnecting the battery to get it to think it was "removed" again, and then trying, tried waiting 1hr before a new try, tried everything I could think of. No results. I want to try taking the radio out of the console to see if that will reset the internals and let me put the code in, but I don't have the tools to do so, and I'm not inclined to buy them online. Anybody have any suggestions for either A) get it to take the code or B) reset it so it will take the code, or C) remove the radio, preferably w/out dismantling the dash.
