Hi Noel.
Yes - it is motorcycle chain lube - thick and foamy and messy, but
utterly waterproof !
I thought of it because of the years I spent trying to find the
perfect chain lube for bikes - and all the best ones are sticky
but completely shed water.
The key to my success, I think, was bothering to coat the entire
mechanism *inside* the doors; when I used to do it on the outside
they still froze and quit working with regularity....
