Most of the answers from prior posts are correct..and clear. Let's try a different approach.
1. You have a B234 engine with a T-25 Garrett turbo. This engine produces...
* 170 HP LPT, T-25 turbo, WITHOUT the BPC and FPT ECU.
* 200 HP FPT, T-25 turbo, WITH the BPC and FPT ECU.
* 225 HP HPT, TD04 turbo, WITH the BPC and HPT ECU.
2. To upgrade to the 200HP FPT....install the BPC and stock FPT ECU.
3. If you want more HP/torque...install the BPC and add a reprogrammed ECU, calibrated for a FPT...not a HPT(different turbo), from one of the tuners...like, Nordic, Maptun, SQR. They all stipulate clearly the difference between FPT and HPT.

Example: For the '94 to '98 2.3 200hp FPT engine, Maptun offers stage 1 ECU= 245HP requires ECU only. Stage 2 ECU= 250HP requires a catback exhaust and airfilter. Stage3 ECU= 270HP requires a turbo back exhaust and airfilter.

So...
1. Install the BPC.
2. Decide how much HP/torque you want.
3. Check out the ECU suppliers. They also recommend additional items that are required for higher power.
