I'll tell you another secret of mine. On My 94cs wrecked two Decembers ago, the timing cover still has the blue permatex I applied when I replaced the engine in 1999. It last for a good five years. I know from the engine manual the blue permatex applies to the surface between the sump pan and the block. But when I read that for the timing cover. What the heck is "anaerobic sealant"? Now how do you expect a non-native English speaker to understand this although I have been in the US for a good 20 years then. I was too lazy to look up the dictionary and I thought if it is good for the sump pan surface why isn't it good for the timing cover? So I used it.

I think in one of my posts I even got into a little spat with Anders about this. Forgive me Anders. You were right. I was wrong. But you can't argue with what works and it does.
