That is one broken valve! I would take it to a machine shop that specialises in fleet rebuilds and/or racing. They will take it apart and tell you what parts you need and if the head is salvageable. The labor is actually very cheap, I had a head rebuilt and the shop charged me less than $150 for the labor.
You could just get a used one, but you don't know what condition its in. I guess if I could get a used one for about $100, I'd take the chance and go that route.
As far as the head gasket goes, at this point its academic whether it was bad, you will need a new one when you put the head back on.
Also, the head looks pretty oily. Did it burn oil? If it did, that means the lower end is probably bad. Did you ever check the compression when it was ok? I'd thing twice about putting a good head on a bad lower end.
