I am going to go the route of getting this head tested. If it tests ok, and there are no cracks, then I will just replace the broken valve. I'm not going to replace the valve guides or any of the other valves, so I hope that will reduce the problem of putting a new head on an old bottom end.
The engine actually didn't burn too much oil. This engine has about 156K miles on it. I've had the car for the last 35K miles and I would say 1/2 of that was all city driving. Before all of this happened, the engine was burning around 1/2 a quart every 3000 miles, which I think is pretty good. (I have a 1999 BMW M3 that burns about a quart every 1500 miles, and thats considered normal)
Thanks!
Jesse
