I've been driving Saabs for 27yrs, and have owned 4 9000s. I've done much of the work on the cars myself. I would pay my indy his fair fee to inspect any Saab I would consider buying. Esp one that you feel uncomfortable about. He could save you thousands, just by really knowing the car. Isn't Swedecar in your area??
Aeros can be great cars, I've got one, or they can be 'ridden hard and put away wet'. I suspect that a number of them have been beaten. Also a number of them have been respected. Your good indy will help you decide which.
The 9-5 is a good car, esp in auto. Well worth considering, and likely to serve you better in the long run. However they really are smaller, esp in sedan. I've thought about the wagon, but the two 9ks are working fine. If I were starting over, I'd be looking at the 2002+ 9-5Wag in manual. With two 9ks, I'm standardized and will likely stay with the 9k for another 5yrs
