oni, If you have changed the fluid, filter and added an additive and the fluid is fully topped up (be sure that you are using the recommended procedure for cecking this) then either there is a valve (or valves) in the valve body which are not moving easily or there is a stack problem. You could change the fluid and filter again, sometimes it takes more than one change to get things freed-up. Of course a problem "limited to the stack" is the worst kind of problem because it means the tranny will need to be rebuilt and there is no way to fix it in the car. Delayed engagement of the forward clutch can be symptomatic of broken sealing rings on the turbine shaft or another thing that I used to see a lot in these units; The topmost sealing ring (think of a metal piston ring) on the (aluminum) stator snaps its' little halflap tooth and proceeds to machine its' groove wider. That causes forward clutch engagement pressure to escape its' circuit. At first the effect is minimal but as the groove is machined ever wider the effect develops to the point where there may be no forward clutch engagement at all. If this was my tranny I would consider pulling out the valve body and hoping to find sticking valves (3-4 and 4-3 traction and pressure regulator valves), but if that isn't the case then most likely it has one of these stack problems and will worsen until it is undrivable. There's no predicting how long that may take. The good news is that it's not a particularly big job swapping out that transmission (unlike a C900) so if you can find a good used unit or want to pay for a rebuilt one it's pretty do-able. Good luck.
