The usual spot to look for fan failure is under radiator below temp switch. The wiring tends to corrode from dripping coolant. At least my 94 CSE did that twice: PO ruined the engine by ignoring missing fan and when I bought the car 2 years later with additional 60 k on the clock with the replaced engine, the fan failed again for the same reason. But this time I knew - primarily by following this fantastic board - what to do and the wiring was replaced immediately.
