9000 CSE vs. other SAABS

I posted a few days ago, after having driven a Saab (1995 9000 CSE turbo 5sp) for the first time. There were just a couple things that annoyed me, but enough to keep me from buying it:
1. No center arm rest. On a long trip, once you're done shifting, this would be incredibly annoying. Do other years or Saab models have something here? Or am I just being incredibly picky? I suppose one could wad up a towel and place it on the center console in order to get it high enough.
2. Shifter position. The 5sp stick is about 6 inches too far forward, and 3+ inches too low, at least for my 5-11" frame. Does this bother anyone else? And again, do other years/models offer better placement?
I loooved the 2.3T and the smooth-shifting action it offered, but high miles and the above annoyances left me wanting more. I'm used to driving a sports car, where everything "comes to hand" and am hoping the 900 or Aero or some other used(read: affordable) Saab turbo addresses these niggling complaints.
