I posted a few days ago solving the first start failure problem on my 94cde after the engine was replaced by putting in a fuel pressure regulator. I am embarrassed to say it did not fix the problem after all. The first start stall problem now becomes intermittent. That and the car running a little rough led me to focus next on the fuel injectors.

I need to add the I don't know how long the '95cse engine has been sitting in the yard exposed to the elements, although inside a wrecked car.

Like I said, I have almost exhausted parts to throw at the engine. Before the engine was replaced. The car was running fine. Well not exactly fine. It has two sets of bearing shells fused with the crank shaft and was on borrowed time. I should say it was running very strong before kicking the bucket anyday.

Let me focus on the engine parts. I used the old wiring harness. I replaced the AIC, both engine temperature sensors (one on the block and another on the intake), the thermostat, the throttle body, and the fuel pressure regulator. The only parts belong to the engine I bought are the fuel injectors, the crank position sensor and the oil pressure sensor.

The oil pressure light doesn't come on anymore I should eliminate it as the culprit. Would the CPS cause first start failure but allow second start to catch? I don't believe it. I also don't believe the fuel line developed a leak or something which caused a pressure loss somewhere. And no, Henry, the oil level in the sump did not change.

The car starts and runs so it is not like I have to solve it right away. But I have the old injectors in the garage so I'll throw them at the engine one more time.

Of course the radiator fan still doesn't com on. The AC compressor still doesn't engage. The cabin fan is still blowing high ignoring any thing I do to the ACC. These are separate issues I need to address but I think I can isolate them from the first start and rough running issues.
