The metal core cat that GS has is the exact same one that I have in my car (although I didn't get it from GS). The car is not super quiet, nor is it super loud w/the metal cat and 2x mufflers. Don't even bother with a ceramic cat like a Catco, etc. Just like I mentioned in my last post the 2 year old Catco I had lasted all of 5-6 adaptation runs with SQR Stage 4 before it was toast.
As far as mild steel vs stainless...I'd forget the stainless. I've had my JT on 2 different cars for the past 2.5 years (including 2 NY winters). The exhaust has NO leaks and the only rust/signs of deterioration on it is the clamps that I used to put it together. Keep in mind the steel used to make the JT is a LOT heavier gage then the OEM stuff and thus will take a lot longer to rust out. Stainless may look great, but it too will corrode eventually. Others may have a different opinion on this.
