I owned and drove both a 9000 and a couple of 900 which are similar in size and feel to the old 9-3. I drove both old 9-3's and the new 9-3 Neon-look ones. If you are concerned about city driving, quick lane changes and parking in tight spots, I would go with the 9-3. For long highway driving at high speed it's the 9000, hand down. Dependabilty? about the same. I find the 9000 a little easier for DIY jobs and maintenance. Also it's getting harder to find parts for the 9000 which stopped production in mid '98. The 9-3 changed in 2002 so parts are plentiful. Overall though, I think the 9000 is the superior car.
